The Winchester Long Beard XR is a dedicated turkey shotshell designed to deliver the tightest patterns and longest reach of any traditional lead turkey load. Loaded in a hard-hitting 20 Gauge configuration, this 3″ hull carries a heavy 1-1/4 oz payload of 5 lead shot at a published velocity of 1000 fps, putting twice the pellets in a 10-inch circle out to 60 yards compared to standard turkey loads.
The breakthrough behind Long Beard XR is Winchester’s proprietary Shot-Lok technology, a resin that encapsulates the lead shot during firing to virtually eliminate pellet deformation through the bore and choke. The result is dramatically improved downrange energy retention and the tightest patterns of any traditional lead turkey load, perfect for spring gobblers and fall turkeys alike.
This is current production ammunition from Winchester Ammunition, loaded in a 3″ hull with 5 lead shot at a 1-1/4 oz charge leaving the muzzle at 1000 fps.
