Description
The Weatherby Vanguard Weatherguard in 6.5 PRC is a purpose-built hunting rifle that pairs Weatherby’s proven bolt-action platform with rugged, weather-ready finishes for hunters who demand reliability in the field. This model features a burnt bronze Cerakote metal finish on the barreled action, giving the rifle a distinctive look while providing excellent corrosion resistance in harsh conditions.
At the heart of the Vanguard Weatherguard is a stainless steel barreled action with a 24″ threaded barrel featuring a 1:8 twist rate, well-suited for stabilizing a wide range of 6.5 PRC bullet weights. The barrel is threaded for easy mounting of a muzzle device or suppressor. The Monte Carlo stock with raised comb is finished in black with bronze webbing, giving the rifle a custom hand-sprayed appearance while maintaining the durable polymer construction Weatherby uses across the Weatherguard line.
The rifle uses a traditional bolt action with a 3+1 capacity. It is equipped with an adjustable two-stage match trigger for precise shot placement and a 3-position safety for safe carry in the field. The right-hand stock configuration and overall length of 44″ make this a full-size hunting rifle. Weighing in at 7.25 lbs, the Vanguard Weatherguard balances well for both spot-and-stalk and tree stand hunting. The rifle ships with no iron sights installed, ready for the shooter to mount their preferred optic.
