The Weatherby Vanguard Obsidian is a purpose-built bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .270 Winchester. Built on Weatherby’s proven Vanguard action platform, it pairs a tapped steel receiver with a 24″ 2 contour blued barrel that arrives factory threaded and ready for a muzzle brake or suppressor. The rifle feeds from a 5-round internal box magazine for an honest 5+1 field capacity, and ships finished in a non-reflective matte blue on all metalwork.
The full-size Obsidian configuration is paired with a durable black polymer synthetic stock accented with orange and grey sponge details, giving it a clean, modern, no-glare appearance ideal for hunting in varied conditions. At 7.5 lbs with an overall length of 44.5″, the right-hand layout balances well for carry on long hunts or steady work from a bench or prone position, and the weather-resistant synthetic stock shrugs off the rough use of backcountry fieldwork.
