The Weatherby Mark V Backcountry 2.0 Ti Carbon is a purpose-built ultralight hunting rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Designed for hunters who cover serious ground in tough terrain, this bolt-action pairs a tensioned carbon fiber barrel with a titanium Weatherby Mark V action to keep weight down without giving up the strength and accuracy the Mark V line is built around.
The 22″ fluted and threaded carbon fiber barrel carries a 1:8 twist and is tipped with Weatherby’s Accubrake ST muzzle brake to soften felt recoil and keep the rifle flat on follow-up shots. The carbon barrel construction keeps the front end light while delivering consistent performance downrange, and the threaded muzzle allows you to step up to a suppressor or add your own preferred muzzle device.
At the heart of the rifle is a titanium Mark V action using a push-feed bolt system. The action is matched with a TriggerTech trigger for a clean, crisp break, and the controls are kept simple with a thumb safety for fast, intuitive manipulation. The rifle ships without iron sights.
The rifle is built around a Fixed Peak 44 Blacktooth stock finished in black, set up for right-hand shooters. The detachable box magazine holds 4+1 rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor. Overall length is 44″, with an advertised weight of just 4.80 lbs – one of the lightest production hunting rifles on the market today.
