Description
The Weatherby Mark V Apex is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in the high-performance 6.5-300 Weatherby Magnum. Built on Weatherby’s flagship Mark V action and dressed in a lightweight carbon fiber stock, the Apex delivers magnum-class performance in a packable, open-country configuration well suited for western big-game hunting.
The rifle carries a fixed Peak 44 Bastion carbon fiber stock finished in camouflage. Bastion stocks rank among the lightest production vertical-grip carbon fiber stocks on the market, tipping the scales at just 23 ounces, which keeps the overall rifle weight down to a trim 6.50 lbs. With an overall length of 48″ and a right-hand configuration, the Apex balances fast off-hand handling with the stability needed for accurate prone shooting.
Up front, a 26″ fluted and threaded barrel is paired with Weatherby’s Accubrake ST muzzle brake to help tame the recoil of the 6.5-300 WBY Mag. The barrel carries a 1:8″ twist well suited to stabilizing a wide range of modern long-range 6.5mm projectiles. No iron sights are installed, leaving a clean platform to mount optics directly to the steel receiver.
A TriggerTech trigger provides a clean, crisp pull, and the action feeds from a 3+1 capacity magazine. Introduced by Weatherby in 2016, the 6.5-300 WBY Mag is among the fastest 6.5mm commercial magnum cartridges ever produced, capable of pushing a 140 grain bullet well over 3,400 fps for flat long-range trajectory and serious downrange energy on game.
