The Taurus 856 Ultra-Lite is a purpose-built, lightweight double-action-only (DAO) revolver chambered in 38 Special +P, designed for comfortable everyday concealed carry and dependable home defense. Part of the 856 small-frame line, this Ultra-Lite variant pairs a matte black anodized aluminum frame with a matte black carbon steel cylinder and barrel, shedding carry weight while retaining the heft needed for controllable shooting with +P loads.
The 2″ barrel keeps the overall footprint compact at just 6.55″ overall length and approximately 16 oz unloaded, making it an ideal on-body or off-body carry revolver that disappears under light cover garments. The concealed hammer profile allows snag-free draws from a pocket or IWB holster, and the DAO trigger delivers a consistent, uniform press every shot without the manual cocking step required on exposed-hammer revolvers.
The 856 Ultra-Lite carries 6 rounds of 38 Special +P in its six-shot cylinder. Sights are an intuitive ramp front paired with a fixed rear for fast target acquisition at defensive distances. Black finger-grooved rubber grips fill the hand, tame +P recoil, and keep the revolver stable during rapid double-action strings.
