The Steiner M830r LRF is a battle-tested 8×30 military binocular with a built-in Class 1 eye-safe laser rangefinder, packaged into a single compact platform. Universally suited for all military services and tactical units, it produces accurate ranges from 27 yards out to 1,860 yards at the push of a button, while the integrated Mil Radian ranging reticle offers a redundant manual ranging solution when conditions rule out the laser.
At the optical heart of the M830r is Steiner’s signature Floating Prism System, which uses a flexible silicone lens mount to absorb severe shock, impact, and abuse without losing optical alignment. Steiner’s Sports-Auto-Focus sets the focus once and delivers a continuous sharp image from 66 feet to infinity with no refocusing required, while fully multi-coated lenses maximize light transmission and contrast across a generous 319 ft field of view at 1,000 yards.
The housing is built on a rugged Makrolon polycarbonate chassis and wrapped in black rubber armor for a positive grip and added impact protection. Steiner’s N2 Injection system pressurizes the interior with dry nitrogen to prevent internal fogging, and the optic is sealed fogproof and waterproof for dependable all-weather field performance. With a 7.10mm exit pupil and a total weight of just 26.50 oz, the M830r LRF is sized for mobile troops who travel light.
