Product Summary

Springfield Emissary AOS Semi-Automatic Pistol 9mm Luger 5″ Barrel (2)-9Rd Magazines Black Cerakote Finish

The fully blacked-out Emissary brings a sleek look to this popular family of 1911 pistols. Offered with a 5″ match barrel and chambered in 9mm, these handguns combine custom 1911 features and enhancements to offer shooters a serious defensive pistol with style. Finished in black Cerakote, they boast Tri-Top cut slides with light-diffusing 40 LPI flat-top serrations. In addition, the heavy-profile bull barrel delivers maximum accuracy and reduced muzzle flip. With a forged slide and frame for strength and durability, the Emissary blends form and function seamlessly in a defensive-minded firearm loaded with custom-grade features. Now, Springfield Armory has taken the precision and shootability of the 1911 and added modern optics integration direct from the factory. Developed in collaboration with Agency Arms, the Agency Optic System (AOS) employs a series of plates fitting a wide variety of today’s most popular optics following the RMR, Shield, Delta Point Pro, and Docter footprints.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition. The 9mm Luger (9X19mm, Parabellum, P08) was developed in Germany in 1902. Widely used in both world wars, it is the most popular pistol cartridge in the world, now widely used by innumerable law enforcement agencies and militaries (including our own) in both pistols and submachineguns. The controversy over its “stopping power” will never go away, but its attribute is that it is much easier to shoot accurately than larger cartridges with greater power…but more recoil. Advancements in bullet design for law enforcement and personal defense have narrowed the gap considerably. The 9mm Luger is a world standard, chambered by virtually all makers of semiautomatic pistols, with a myriad of factory loads. The most standard is probably a 115-grain load at 1160 fps, with common bullet weights ranging from 95 to 147 grains, and +P loads at higher velocity.  — Craig Boddington
