The Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 19 Carry Comp is a purpose-built concealed-carry revolver chambered for the powerful 357 Magnum cartridge and built on S&W’s classic medium-sized K-frame. Designed and assembled by Smith & Wesson’s Performance Center, this Carry Comp variant adds a factory 2.50″ PowerPort vented barrel that bleeds muzzle gas upward through ports to manage felt recoil and reduce muzzle flip, making full-power 357 Magnum shooting far more controllable from a short-barreled package. The revolver also accepts milder 38 Special +P loads for comfortable range practice.
Construction follows Smith & Wesson’s proven double-action revolver formula: a durable carbon steel frame and cylinder finished in matte blue, fitted with smooth finger-grooved wood grips that deliver a classic feel in the hand. The action is the iconic double-action/single-action layout with an exposed hammer, giving shooters both rapid DA first-shot capability and crisp single-action fire at longer ranges.
Sighting is configured for serious carry work: a glowing tritium night front sight paired with a black-blade adjustable rear, all feeding the 6-shot cylinder. At approximately 33 oz unloaded and 7.50″ overall, the Model 19 Carry Comp strikes a deliberate balance between EDC concealability and the shootability that has defined the Model 19 platform since 1957.
