Description
The Shield RMS2 (Reflex Mini Sight 2.0) Glass Edition is a subcompact, low-profile red dot reflex sight purpose-built for pistol applications, including slide-mounted carry optics and custom pistol builds. The Glass Edition upgrades the standard polymer lens to a scratch-resistant, ultra-clear glass lens for improved clarity and durability under repeated recoil and rough field use.
At its core, the RMS2 uses an 8 MOA red dot driven by a red light-emitting diode (LED) – no laser, no radioactive materials, and completely eye-safe. The dot is paired with Shield’s super-fast automatic brightness adjustment, which adapts to ambient light for fast, intuitive target acquisition. The housing is machined from aerospace-grade aluminum, keeping the optic lightweight yet tough enough to withstand harsh handgun recoil. A low-profile design allows the sight to sit low for co-witness with suppressor-height or standard iron sights, depending on the host setup.
The RMS2 follows the popular Shield RMSc footprint, making it compatible with a wide range of pistol slides cut for RMSc-pattern optics. Power is supplied by a single CR2032 battery, delivering an estimated 20,000 hours of runtime under typical daylight conditions, with average battery life around 2-3 years depending on use and storage. The optic is sealed to an IP67 rating (submersible to 3 feet for 30 minutes) and built to remain operational on slides that see heavy carry and training cycles.
