Description
The Savage Impulse Hog Hunter brings Savage’s signature straight-pull bolt action to a purpose-built feral hog rifle. Chambered in 30-06 Springfield, this rifle is engineered for fast, accurate follow-up shots when hogs show up in groups, leveraging the Impulse’s fully ambidextrous straight-pull bolt to get back on target faster than a traditional turn-bolt allows.
At the heart of the Hog Hunter is a 20″ carbon steel barrel that is button rifled and hand-straightened for MOA-capable accuracy. The barrel is threaded for a muzzle device or suppressor, making it well suited to hunters who want to cut recoil and noise in the field. A 1:10″ twist stabilizes the wide range of bullet weights available in 30-06 Springfield.
The action sits in a Savage AccuStock with the user-adjustable AccuFit system, finished in a non-reflective matte OD Green that disappears in the brush. Metalwork carries a matching matte black finish over an aluminum receiver. The rifle ships with Savage’s crisp, user-adjustable AccuTrigger and arrives with no iron sights, leaving the top of the receiver clean for optics mounting.
The Hog Hunter feeds from a detachable box magazine with a 4+1 capacity and tips the scales at 8.65 lbs with an overall length of 41.5″.
