Description
The Savage A17 is a purpose-built semi-auto rimfire rifle chambered in 17 HM2, engineered for varmint, small-game, and recreational shooting. At the heart of the rifle is a 20″ button-rifled carbon steel barrel with a 1:9″ twist, fitted with a muzzle brake. The matte black barrel is mated to a matte black drilled and tapped carbon steel receiver, ready to mount a scope or red dot.
Savage outfits the A17 with the user-adjustable AccuTrigger for precise pull-weight customization and a simple thumb safety for confident handling. The action cycles via a corrosion-resistant chrome-plated bolt with a bolt-release lever and removable dust cover for simplified maintenance, feeding from a reliable 10-round rotary magazine for a total 10+1 capacity. The fixed black synthetic stock keeps overall weight to 5.70 lbs and overall length to 39.50″, making the A17 light and handy in the field.
Right-hand configured with no iron sights installed, the A17 ships optics-ready on its drilled and tapped receiver. The 17 HM2 (Mach 2) cartridge is a flat-shooting, low-recoil round ideal for plinking, pest control, and introductory small-game hunting at achievable velocities around 2,100 fps from the 20″ barrel.
