Description
The Primos PS1264 The Karen is a diaphragm turkey mouth call built on Primos’ Hen House Series platform. At its core is a 3-reed Double Ghost Cut design that delivers smooth, high-to-low two-note yelps of a mature hen, with a clear front end and a raspy back end for plenty of attitude when a wary gobbler comes in range.
The Karen is built around three latex reeds seated in a green plastic frame with high-visibility green tape. The reeds are tuned by Primos so a hunter can run the full range of turkey hen sounds – from soft locating yelps to aggressive cuts and cackles – by simply varying air pressure. Because the call sits in the roof of the mouth and is operated hands-free, both hands stay free for the shotgun or bow, a real advantage when a longbeard closes the distance during spring turkey hunting.
Use The Karen to locate gobblers on the roost, work mid-range birds with confident hen talk, and finish close turkeys with cutting yelps and cackles. Like all diaphragm mouth calls, it takes a bit of practice to seat it correctly and dial in air pressure – light pressure for soft, subtle notes, harder pushes for louder, raspier sounds. Compact, reliable, and built to bring turkeys in close, The Karen is a proven tool for any spring gobbler hunt.
