Description
The Mossberg Patriot in .243 Winchester is a bolt-action hunting rifle built around Mossberg’s Patriot action. This configuration ships with a 22-inch matte blued fluted barrel, a one-piece OD Green synthetic stock, and a 5+1 capacity detachable box magazine.
The button-rifled barrel is free-floated inside the forend for consistent accuracy and capped with a recessed match crown to protect the muzzle. Fluting trims a bit of weight and increases the barrel’s cooling surface area, while the matte blue finish keeps glare to a minimum in the field. A spiral-fluted bolt handle ties the look together.
At the core of the Patriot is Mossberg’s patented LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) user-adjustable trigger, tunable from 2 to 7 pounds without removing the action or visiting a gunsmith. The rifle feeds from a drop box magazine for fast reloads.
The OD Green synthetic stock is well-suited for cold- and wet-weather hunting where a traditional wood stock would suffer. The rifle measures 42.75 inches overall.
