The Leupold BackCountry Cross-Slot Base is a precision-machined, one-piece scope mount designed specifically for the Savage 110 and Savage Axis rifles built on a round receiver long action. Part of the Leupold BackCountry line of lightweight mounting solutions, this base delivers the rigidity needed for precision long-range shooting while keeping carry weight to a minimum.
The base is machined from 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished in non-reflective matte black to blend with most factory rifle finishes. The Cross-Slot mounting interface is compatible with both Picatinny and Weaver-style rings, giving the shooter a wide selection of ring heights and styles from the Leupold catalog. A pre-installed 20 MOA slope angles the base upward toward the muzzle (rear lower than front), providing the additional upward elevation adjustment needed for long-range shooting at extended distances.
This listing is for the 1-piece base only; rings are sold separately. The base is supplied with the correct 8-40 screws sized for the Savage 110/Axis round receiver long action. Total weight is approximately 2.2 oz, so the mount adds virtually no noticeable weight to a hunting or backcountry rifle.
