The Leupold BackCountry Cross-Slot base is a precision-machined 1-piece scope base built specifically for the Remington 783 Short Action. Machined from lightweight 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished in non-reflective matte black, it provides a rigid, repeatable mounting platform that weighs just 1.75 oz and measures 5.9″ end-to-end.
The cross-slot pattern is engineered to accept both Picatinny and Weaver-style rings, giving you total flexibility when pairing the base with your optic of choice. Leupold specifies a base-to-receiver torque of 22 in-lbs for a solid, dependable fit on the factory receiver. Rings are sold separately.
