The LaserMax Red Lightning Rail brings the company’s innovative GripSense activation technology to a compact, universal rail-mounted laser sight designed for handguns with at least 1 inch of rail space. Finished in black, the Lightning is sized to drop onto a wide range of carry and full-size pistols, making it an easy upgrade for shooters who want fast, intuitive aiming without altering their existing grip.
At the core of the sight is a 650nM red laser producing a 5 mW beam with a 0.63″ dot at 20 yards and an effective range out to 50 meters. Where the Lightning stands apart is its dual-mode activation: the GripSense motion sensor fires the laser the instant the shooter takes a firing grip on the pistol, while a recessed push button on the side provides traditional manual control for training, dry-fire, or administrative use. Programmable beam modes let the user tailor the behavior to personal preference, and the unit runs on a single lightweight 1/3N battery for extended field life.
The Lightning clamps to the host firearm via a mount that accommodates both a Picatinny rail and the pistol’s trigger guard, providing a secure, repeatable zero. At just 1.00 oz, the sight adds minimal weight to the slide and frame while keeping the controls accessible to either hand.
