The Iver Johnson Arms Hawk Commander brings the classic Commander-length 1911 platform to a modern .45 ACP carry gun, built on an all-steel frame and slide finished in a durable matte black. A 4.25″ barrel pairs with a single-stack magazine for an 8+1 capacity, and the gun runs on a proven Series 70 1911 action in SAO (single-action only) configuration.
The slide features traditional serrations and rides on a steel frame with an integrated beavertail grip safety to help manage felt recoil and promote a high, confident grip. Sights are configured in a practical contrast pattern with a dovetail front and a Novak rear, and the frame carries the standard grip and thumb safety layout. Genuine checkered double-diamond walnut grips fill the hand for a classic, secure hold, and the whole package tips the scales at 38 oz.
