The Hornady ELD Match Bullet Seating Stem is a precision reloading component machined from alloy steel to seat 6.5mm (.264″) ELD Match projectiles weighing 130 to 140 grains. It is designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade seating stem for Hornady Custom Grade Dies, profile-matched to the bullet’s Spitzer Boat Tail ogive for straight, concentric seating.
Proper seating-stem fit is critical for precision handloading. A generic stem that does not match the bullet profile can crush the polymer tip, shave lead, or push the bullet crookedly into the case mouth, costing both velocity consistency and group size. Hornady’s ELD Match seating stems are turned to the exact contour of the bullet so the seater contacts the projectile only along its bearing surface, preserving tip integrity and seating depth uniformity.
This stem is calibrated for 0.264″ diameter ELD Match bullets in the 130 gr and 140 gr weight range, making it the correct choice for handloaders running 6.5mm match-grade projectiles. It installs in place of the standard seating stem in any compatible Hornady Custom Grade seating die.
