Built on Henry’s all-steel Side Gate platform, this model pairs a round 20″ blued steel barrel with a blued steel receiver and a traditional American walnut straight-grip stock – a time-tested hunting combination scaled for whitetail deer, black bear, and other North American game.
The “GL” in H009GL marks the large loop lever, giving a wider opening that accepts gloved fingers and helps drive faster follow-up shots in cold weather. The side gate cut into the receiver lets you top off the 5+1 tubular magazine straight from a cartridge box without removing the tube, while a transfer-bar safety and a 1:12″ rate of twist round out a clean, reliable action.
Sights are a brass bead front paired with an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear, ready to be dialed in for the .30-30 hunting loads you shoot most.
