The FN 509 Tactical (509T) is a duty-grade 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol built around a matte black polymer frame with an integrated Picatinny accessory rail. The slide is stainless steel with a matte black finish, slide serrations, and FN’s Low-Profile Optics Mounting System that accepts a wide range of micro red dots directly out of the box.
At the heart of the 509T sits FN’s signature 4.50″ cold hammer-forged, threaded barrel finished in matte black with a target crown and 1/2×28 threading that accepts the majority of 9mm suppressors and compensators on the market. Co-witnessing with mounted optics, suppressor-height 3-dot night sights deliver fast, intuitive target acquisition whether or not a red dot is in use.
The polymer frame uses interchangeable backstraps for hand-fit customization. With no external manual safety, the trigger and internal safeties manage drop-safe operation. Weighing 27.90 oz unloaded, the 509T balances shootability for duty carry, home defense, and serious range work.
