The Federal Shorty SH1294B is a compact 12 Gauge shotshell measuring just 1.75″ in length, designed for 12 Gauge firearms chambered specifically for shorter mini shells rather than standard 2.75″ or 3″ lengths. The 4 Buck load carries 15 pellets in a 15/16 oz payload at a muzzle velocity of 1200 fps, providing a dense short-range pattern in Federal’s reduced-length Shorty platform.
This load joins Federal’s existing Shorty lineup alongside the 8 shot and rifled slug variants, and is intended for Sport Shooting use on shorter-platform firearms and Shockwave-style configurations where standard-length shells will not cycle. Loaded as 10 rounds per box and 10 boxes per case (100 rounds), the SH1294B gives mini-shell shooters a dedicated 4 Buck option in the Federal Shorty family.
