The Cor-Bon Self Defense 45 ACP +P load is purpose-built defensive handgun ammunition engineered to deliver maximum stopping power from any 45 ACP pistol chambered for +P service pressure. Cor-Bon has built its reputation by pushing conventional handgun cartridges to their upper performance limits, and this 185-grain Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) load carries that legacy forward with serious terminal performance for home defense, concealed carry, and duty applications.
Fired through a standard 5-inch test barrel, this +P loading produces a muzzle velocity of 1150 fps and muzzle energy of 543 ft lbs. The JHP bullet is designed to expand reliably on impact while retaining enough mass for deep, consistent penetration – making it a well-rounded option across a range of defensive scenarios. Each round is built on a high-quality boxer-primed brass case for dependable ignition, smooth feeding, and consistent performance.
