Description
The Cold Steel Recon Tanto (model CS49LRT) is a heavy-duty fixed-blade tactical knife built for hard use in the field. Its 7″ blade is forged from SK-5 high-carbon steel and finished with a non-reflective black Tuff-Ex coating for corrosion resistance and reduced glare.
The blade is ground in Cold Steel’s signature American-style tanto profile, with a chisel-like secondary point that excels at piercing tough materials. A plain edge provides clean, controllable cutting across utility work, bushcraft, and defensive applications.
The handle is molded from Cold Steel’s virtually indestructible black Kray-Ex polymer, delivering a secure, slip-resistant grip even in wet or cold conditions. The full-tang construction runs the steel skeleton of the knife through the entire handle for outstanding strength and balance.
The Recon Tanto measures 11.75″ overall, with a handle length of 4.75″ and a blade thickness of approximately 0.19″. It weighs 9 oz, giving it serious heft without being unwieldy.
A Secure-Ex sheath is included for safe carry and quick deployment, making this fixed blade a reliable companion for tactical, outdoor, and survival use.
