Description
The Cimarron Trapdoor Cavalry Carbine is a faithful, current-production reproduction of the iconic U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Cavalry Carbine, chambered in .45-70 Government. Built around a case-hardened steel frame and topped with a 22-inch round barrel finished in traditional blue, this carbine channels the look and handling of the original cavalry-issue long arm carried by mounted troops on the American frontier.
Designed as a single-shot rifle with a 1-round capacity, the Trapdoor Carbine uses Cimarron’s classic hinged breechblock (trapdoor) mechanism for loading and extraction. It wears standard iron sights, an oiled satin-finish American walnut stock, and measures 46.5 inches overall, tipping the scales at approximately 7.1 pounds for balanced offhand or saddle carry.
A staple of Cowboy Action Shooting competitions and living history events, the Cimarron Trapdoor Cavalry Carbine pairs authentic 19th-century styling with modern Cimarron quality. This is a brand-new, current-production Cimarron Firearms rifle.
