Description
The Cimarron Model P US Cavalry is a faithful single-action revolver reproduction honoring the sidearms carried by the U.S. 7th Cavalry in the late 19th century. Chambered in .45 Colt (Long Colt), it is built on a traditional color case hardened steel frame and pairs a 7.50″ blued steel barrel with a matching blued, six-shot fluted cylinder.
The Model P uses a single-action-only (SAO) mechanism with an exposed hammer and the four-click action true to original Colt Single Action Army designs. The walnut grip is properly stamped with Ainsworth’s OWA (Ordnance Department) cartouche, the authentic inspector’s mark found on government-issued cavalry revolvers. A wide front sight sits atop the barrel for fast target acquisition at typical cavalry engagement distances.
At 2.56 lbs, the Model P US Cavalry carries the heft and balance expected of a period-correct cavalry sidearm, making it a natural fit for Cowboy Action Shooting, historical reenactment, and Old West collections. This is a complete, current-production Cimarron revolver in New condition.
