Description
The Byrna Technologies Kinetic Less-Lethal 12 Gauge round is a fin-stabilized solid slug purpose-built for 12 gauge shotgun-platform self-defense and home defense without lethal intent. Designed to chamber in standard 12 gauge shotguns, each 2.5″ shell delivers a single kinetic projectile weighing 1/7 oz that travels at approximately 312 fps and carries about 20 Joules of on-target energy – comparable to a firm paintball impact at close range and effective for deterring aggressive threats at distances beyond 100 feet.
Unlike a conventional buckshot or slug load, the Byrna Kinetic round uses no gunpowder propellant. Discharge is roughly 16 times quieter than a standard 12 gauge round and stays under 115 decibels at the muzzle. The fin-stabilized solid projectile resists shatter on impact, ships with clear external “Kinetic” markings for easy identification, and is designed to deliver painful, deterring impact without lethal penetration – making it well suited to home defense scenarios where over-penetration and lethal force are concerns, as well as for security details and less-lethal training.
Rounds are packaged 10 per box with 50 boxes (500 rounds) per case, sold and shipped in original Byrna packaging.
