The X-Bolt builds on the proven successes of past Browning rifles, and adds numerous improvements that places it at the top of any side by side comparison. It is free-floated by bedding the front and rear of the action for stability and to help maintain barrel to stock spacing for consistent accuracy. A recessed muzzle crown helps protect the rifling from damage. The bolt unlock button works in conjunction with the top-tang safety to provide an added measure of safety during checking and unloading of the chamber. The X-Bolt features a three-lever Feather Trigger provides a clean, crisp pull, X-Lock scope mount, Inflex recoil pad, and a 60 degree fast cycling bolt lift. This Western Hunter Long Range features high strength steel receiver, stainless steel sporter contour fluted barrel, removable muzzle brake, removable magazine, top-tang thumb safety, extended bolt handle, Hard Core Fiber Fusion stock in Cerakote Flat Dark Earth finish and adjustable comb system.

Based on Hornady’s .375 Ruger/Ruger Compact Magnum unbelted case, the 6.5 PRC requires a .532-inch bolt face, same as standard belted magnums. With a 2.030-inch case it can be housed in short bolt actions, andcase length allows use of long-for-caliber 6.5mm bullets. Obviously it trades on the success of the 6.5mm Creedmoor, and also on the renewed interest in the ranging abilities of the 6.5mm (.264-inch) bullet diameter.
