Description
The Winchester Model 70 Featherweight chambered in 6.8 Western is a classic lightweight bolt-action hunting rifle built around a forged steel receiver and a 24″ button-rifled free-floating barrel. Since 1936 the Model 70 has set the benchmark by which every other bolt-action rifle is measured, and this Featherweight carries that legacy forward with traditional styling and refined handling in the field.
At the heart of this rifle is a 24″ button-rifled free-floating barrel with a 1:8″ twist and a recessed target crown, paired with a brushed polish blued receiver and barrel that give the action a clean, time-honored look. A 3+1 capacity feeds from an internal box magazine, and the three-position safety lets the shooter cycle rounds with the safety engaged while keeping the bolt ready to fire. The rifle weighs in at 7 lbs and measures 44.25″ overall, making it a well-balanced companion for hunters pursuing big game in open country.
The satin walnut stock features Winchester’s signature feather-style checkering on the forend and grip for positive handling, finished in a warm brown tone that pairs naturally with the blued metalwork. The stock is fixed and configured for right-hand shooters. The receiver is drilled and tapped for optics, giving you a clean, secure mounting platform for the scope of your choice.
The M.O.A. Trigger System delivers a clean, adjustable pull that helps hunters place precise shots at extended ranges – a fitting complement to the flat-shooting 6.8 Western cartridge, developed to deliver long-range energy and trajectory in a modern hunting package. From the forged steel receiver to the button-rifled barrel and classic walnut stock, this Model 70 Featherweight is a faithful expression of Winchester’s storied bolt-action tradition.
